Davis Community Meals and Housing
The purpose of Davis Community Meals and Housing is to provide low-income and homeless individuals and families with housing, food, and human services to help them rebuild their lives.
We fulfill our mission by a variety of programs, a meals program, street outreach, an employment program, a resource center, transitional housing for individuals and families, and permanent supportive housing. We currently are building a new facility, Paul’s Place, which will improve our old facility at 1111 H Street in Davis and add 18 more units of permanent housing for homeless individuals and households.
Our Permanent Supportive Housing programs at Cesar Chavez Plaza and Creekside in Davis are meant to provide affordable housing to low income and homeless or formerly homeless individuals and families in our community. Many have special needs such as severe mental illness, chronic dependency issues and physical disabilities. Together they provide 142 units of affordable supportive housing units in Davis and currently house over 80 formerly homeless individuals.
Paul’s Place will expand our resource center’s capacity and enable individuals and families to access basic human services more readily. It will also add 4 emergency shelter beds. The new transitional housing program will improve by having 10 individual bedrooms for the individuals in the program and not 4 communal bedrooms as we have had for many years. It will also add 18 more affordable housing units for homeless individuals and households. There are 18 individuals who will have safe, stable and affordable housing to get them off the streets, permanently! Staff will work with them to provide them with the necessary counseling and resources to enable them to thrive and become active members of our community.
Your support will help us finish construction of Paul’s Place and help us help 18 more homeless individuals leave homelessness permanently.

West Sac Play
West Sac Play is a non-profit, parent volunteer group, dedicated to building amazing play spaces for families in West Sacramento, CA.
We designed and built the play structure at Bridgeway Lakes Community Park and continue to fundraise for playground shade structures which are matched by the City of West Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department.
We host events such as Night Splash at the splash pad, Summer Concerts in the Parks, West Sac Play 5k Run/Walk, Farm to Park Charity Dinner, Cocoa with Santa, and tile decorating. Our events provide family friendly activities and raise money for new parks projects.
During 2020, our programs took a hard hit like many non-profits due to not being able to host in person events. We were able to pivot with hosting a virtual 5k Run/Walk and a virtual experience with Santa. In 2021, we are excited to finish out the year with an in person Cocoa with Santa event and hopefully continue with more events in 2022.
Inquiries can be be directed to: Haley Orr, President, [email protected]

Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance
The COVID pandemic has brought to light challenges that our older adults face in Yolo County. Through our phone calls, Zoom calls and outreach we have found that older people in Yolo County are experiencing heightened isolation, nutrition deficits, difficulties getting digitally connected and need connection to supports in order to stay safely in their home.
Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance (YHAA) has been making a real difference in the lives of older adults in Yolo County since 2010 through education, collaboration, advocacy and connecting people to the programs and services they need to age in the community.
YHAA has been deeply involved in the planning and distribution of information for COVID vaccines. We exist to make senior voices heard, to find gaps in services and to fix them. We are so pleased that through our efforts, over 80% of persons age 65 years and older in Yolo County are fully vaccinated with even higher rates in the very old. Through the advocacy of YHAA, a unique home vaccination program was made available initially for home bound seniors and now for everyone.
The Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance website is an important resource of all kinds of programs and services for older adults, their caregivers and persons with disabilities in Yolo County. https://www.yolohealthyaging.org/resources. During the pandemic we were a key resource for information and connection to vaccines. Since March of 2020 our website had 7,653 views with over 5000 unique visitors for COVID related articles, information and resources. Yet, our older adults sometime find it difficult to navigate a website and use digital platform. Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance would like to print and distribute a hard copy of a Yolo County Senior Resource Guide. There has not been a Yolo County Senior Resource Guide for 4 years. Your donations will help to get this important information into the hands of 2,000 seniors and their caregivers.
Thank you for this opportunity to connect people to the services they need to stay safe and healthy in our community.
